...and I came tumbling after.
My cable provider removed The Tennis Channel from my cable package “tier.”

And the French Open begins in a week.

There are an infinite number of bigger and better/worse things to be grouchy about today, but here I am. Please keep the customer service rep who fields my call in your thoughts.

I had a splitting sinus headache this morning.

But I was all out of Motrin. Excedrin was all we had in the medicine cabinet at work. I don’t usually take it, but I took two out of desperation.

It did help my headache, but I have been dizzy all day (shaky hands, spinning head) and I don’t like the way I feel at all. Figure it has to be the caffeine in the Excedrin.

I don’t drink coffee or tea and never have, but I do drink soda (but not every day, maybe once or twice a week). This lead me to look up the average amount of caffeine in things. In case you’re curious:

A 12oz can of Coke contains about 30-35mg of caffeine.

A cup of generic, brewed coffee contains between 95-200mg of caffeine.

Two tablets of Extra Strength Excedrin contain 130mg of caffeine.

So I’ve learned that I actually do not have much tolerance for caffeine after all.

There’s no moral to this story, but I know so many people who drink so much coffee - and who say they can’t function without it - and it’s kinda odd to think about how wired so many people have to be in order to function.

I’d like to lie down now.

I’ve been productive today!

So why isn’t it 5:30 yet?

It’s amazing how quickly a $25 Amazon gift card turns into a $30 shopping spree.

Apparently there was in fact some stuff I wanted.

I took today off.

Why am I never home when it downpours?

(Probably because I am never home.) Dear basement: please don’t flood, please don’t flood, please don’t flood.

In 2011, I interviewed a woman who had survived breast cancer and wrote an article for her (in first person) about her experience for a local magazine. She was really nice and thoughtful and her story was terrifying but hopeful as she was approaching her 2-year cancer-free check up.

Just found out she passed away last month. 51 years old. Goddamn it.
